The Gray

The Gray

By Robert C Price

Sometimes we shield

Memories of the people

We’ve lost along the way

We release the good thoughts

To roam free throughout

Our minds

And hide the bad thoughts

In a safe locked away

Never to be seen again

But those memories are

Just as significant to the

Grieving process

It’s the whole picture

That matters most

Those off-kilter moments

No one wants to

Remember them

In the gray

That in-between of

Heaven and hell

That made you doubt

Made you wonder why

You loved them

Even when you shouldn’t

The typical human

With giant sized flaws

As we all have

Remember all that

They were and

Love their impact

On your life

Never suppress another

Memory for you do a

Disservice to them

We all live

In the gray

Where humanity dwells

  1. Death is inevitable for us humans. We shouldn’t waste our lives. As for those loved ones who have passed away, we should really value the lessons that they taught us while they were alive. And as for those loved ones who are still alive, we should cherish them while we still can, because one day, death will definitely come and take them.
