Mask

Mask

By Robert C Price

I see that mask you wear

Trying to hide what I know

I don’t have to look you in the eye

To know you’re playing a part

No Emmys or Oscars

Or acceptance speeches

No fake diatribes of

People liking you

There are no monologues

To convince me

That you’re all right

I’m not living your pain

Your loneliness

But I would gladly

Take your burden

If you show me

The real you

The one I fell

In love with

  1. That’s right. I remember my visit of old. =) I like this:

    “Or acceptance speeches

    No fake diatribes of

    People liking you

    There are no monologues

    To convince me

    That you’re all right”

And you spelled the last two words correctly! (Not alright).
