When I Was A Poet VI

This is the last of the poems from my Poet past, but certainly not the last of poems that I have rattling in my head.  It’s called GONE. Enjoy!

GONE

Known was my heart to you

Delivered on a silver platter

For your enjoyment

Open to the world with no malice

But love that was waiting for a

Response

I heard you cry out for me

And I ran to your call

To console you and adore you

I kiss your lips and caress

Your visage

Awaiting happy testaments

By your side

I ponder life without you

It is something that I cannot

Bring myself to accept

You are gone from my life

I move on to better tomorrows

And everyday is better than the

Last

And every week I soar higher

Than before

And now and then

I am happy
